About Gentle Journeys

Gentle Journeys was founded with a deep understanding of the unique challenges faced by neurodivergent individuals and their families when it comes to travel. Drawing from personal experience—particularly the joys and hurdles of travelling with our own neurodiverse child—as well as extensive research and surveys conducted with families, we created a service dedicated to transforming travel into a calm, supportive, and enjoyable experience.

We recognised a heartbreaking reality: many families avoid travelling altogether due to anxiety, sensory sensitivities, and the fear of the unknown. Our mission is to change that by offering gentle, thoughtful support that empowers families to explore the world with greater confidence and comfort.

Our Approach

At Gentle Journeys, we believe travel should feel like a soft, gentle journey rather than an overwhelming ordeal. We provide tailored solutions designed specifically for neurodivergent travellers and their loved ones, ensuring that every aspect of the trip—from the airport to the destination—feels safe, predictable, and reassuring.

What We Offer

•  In-Flight Support Bags: Carefully curated distraction and comfort kits to help manage sensory needs, reduce anxiety, and make time in the air smoother and more manageable.

•  In-Room Support Boxes: Thoughtfully prepared welcome packs delivered to your accommodation, designed to create a “home from home” environment with familiar items and tools that help maintain routines, comfort, and a sense of security while away.

•  Multilingual Lanyard Attachments: We have designed and created practical lanyard attachments available in four different languages. These can be easily attached to a bag for quick access or discreetly used in moments of crisis or overwhelm, helping to communicate essential needs clearly and effectively to others.
